New modes abound in the latest entry in EA Sports’ soccer series.
If you’ve been following our previous coverage of FIFA 11, you might already be familiar with some of the improvements that have been announced since the release of the last FIFA. For starters, passing has been improved to the extent that you have to be much more aware of how much strength and finesse you put behind a pass. If you put too much leg behind it, a downfield player might have trouble trapping or handling the ball, whereas if it’s too weak, it will almost always be intercepted. We found that simply trying to ping-pong the ball around the field didn’t work as it might have in previous iterations.

New Games: Singularity

Singularity is developer Raven Software’s first original title in nearly 10 years. It’s a labour of love for the studio’s founders, who have long dreamed of doing a Cold War-style science fiction shooter. The headline feature of the game is the Time Manipulation Device (TMD), which uses something called substance E99 to allow time control.
